Mike Marolt at 25,000 feet on the north ridge of everest. Mike specializes in ascending and skiing big mountains in ski boots. He had this to say about Intuition's new Luxury Liner:
"We have used the liners since 2003 on expeditions to Shishapangma, Cho Oyu, Everest, as well as a number of 6000 meter peaks throughout South America, and 7000 meter peaks in Asia. We use the Luxury liners because there is no other liner that offers the qualities we need in our footwear. Number one, we need extreme warmth. At altitudes above 20,000 feet, and considering we do not climb with supplemental oxygen, ski boots are simply nowhere near as warm as climbing boots. The Luxury Liners give us the maximum warmth. These liners have allowed us to ski from above 7,000 meters 6 times, and 8,000 meters 3 times. At those altitudes, any temperatures below 32 degrees subjects your feet to frostbite. These liners are crucial for our success. Additionally, the liners make ANY ski boot ski better. For AT boots, they add shock absorption as well as stiffness that is beyond compare. And best of all, the Luxury Liners are super light weight. All around, the Luxury Liner is the best we have found. They are probably the most important piece of gear in our bag."
Mike Recently updated his thoughts with the new Intuition Pro Tour Liner. This is what he had to say after a trip to nepal:
"Just back from Nepal. Was wet, snowy, cold, all not great for climbing and skiing an already dangerous route, but let me tell you that those new liners are the s**t!!! Unbelievable how that modification in the back let’s them climb. And as always, warm and compfy on the ski. Really an incredible product. We all still have 10 toes. That is huge."
You can see Mike and his twin brother Steve in "Summiting Everest" which tracks their trip up to the top and then skiing down. SVST is proud to sponsor these extreme athletes who have tested the Intuition liners far beyond what we could've ever imagined. They are a testament to the warmth and effectiveness of the liners.
